Explaining the Leapforce Qualification Exam

Updated Information on the Leapforce Qualification Exam

I’ve been working for Leapforce for 3 years now, but recently I was unable to work for a couple of months.  Leapforce really is serious about the requirement that agents work at least 200 tasks per month or they may remove your authorization to work.

That is what happened to me; however, they did give me the opportunity to re-qualify and get back to work.  This is great for my blog readers because now I can give an update on the way the current qualification exam is conducted.

The exam is given in 3 separate parts; you must pass each part in order before you are allowed to go on to the next part.  You will receive an email outlining basic information about each part, however I can tell you some things that the email doesn’t.

Note: As needs change, Leapforce changes the methods of evaluation and when that happens the Qualification Exam will also change.  So the information in this post is only true of the exam that exists at the time of this writing.  It will change some day in the future. The exam today is VERY different from what it was like when I originally took it three years ago.

The main thing that has changed in the last year is that you must begin rating pages from a mobile device user's perspective by rating pages on your own smartphone.  If you don't have a smartphone and don't want to get one, you can't work for Leapforce.

Part 1 Theoretical

The email you receive says that the Theoretical part consists of (one email says 32 but its really) 33 questions.  This is misleading, each question has 4 parts and you must answer each part so it is in effect 132 questions.

They aren’t trick questions, but some can be tricky, so take your time and read them carefully.  You are allowed to refer to the guidelines while taking the exam and I recommend that you do.

You should plan on taking at least an hour to complete this portion of the exam. Once you have submitted the last page of questions the evaluation platform will display the following message:
No tasks are currently available. Please try again later.
In my case, within about 10 minutes of submitting the last page of questions I received email notice that I passed Part 1 of the exam.  The next batch of tasks will take a few hours to show up on your evaluation platform, so take a break while you are waiting.
Part 2 Page Quality
In this section you will evaluate a webpage, fill out the online form that is only mentioned in the guidelines, and give your rating of the page.
As with Part 1, you are allowed to refer to the Guidelines while doing the evaluation.  It is advisable that you use this resource.  Take your time and think about what you are doing.  How well does this page achieve its purpose?
Note: the email about Part 2 that you receive says: Comments within the tasks are not required for the exam and will not be read. However, if you don’t put anything in the comments box when you submit the task you may get an error asking you to comment. So if this happens just put something in the comments box and hit Submit again.
You do not have to complete this part of the exam all in one sitting.  You can take a break by hitting the "Submit and Stop Rating" button when you are ready to submit your rating.  The rest of the tasks will be there when you sign in again.
When I took the exam there were fewer than 10 pages that I was required to evaluate.  After submitting my last rating, I received an email within about 10 minutes stating that I had passed Part 2.
Part 3 Send to Device
This is a relatively new way of evaluating pages for Leapforce.  When Google decided that webpages should be mobile friendly if they want to be ranked highly on search engine results, Leapforce began evaluating webpages based on how mobile users see them.  The most recent change has been that agents are now evaluating pages directly on their smartphones.  So now in order to be a Leapforce agent you must have an internet enabled smartphone.
To complete this part of the exam you must follow the instructions carefully, there will be a link to a video in your email notice that you passed part 2.  Watch it, do what it says and you should have no technical problems with the tasks.
Note: Here’s a trick if the User Location map doesn’t display properly on the task page (this is a glitch that has always been there and hasn’t been fixed).  If you have a blank map at the top of the task page, hit the back arrow button at the top next to the page address:
This will pop you out of the task, but you will still be on the Evaluation Platform.  There it will say: "Incomplete Tasks" and next to that will be a Continue button.  Click on Continue and your task will come back along with a usable user location map.
Again, you don’t have to complete all of Part 3 in one sitting.  You can use the "Submit and Stop Rating" button to take a break and complete the other tasks later.
You can also refer to the Guidelines while completing Part 3, and you would be wise to do so.
When you have submitted the last task on your exam the only notice you will have is the message:
No tasks are currently available. Please try again later.
This time you will have to wait longer to learn whether you have passed the exam depending on when you finish the last task. For some reason Leapforce waits until after the due date and time before they will let you know whether you have passed.  I got my notice on the morning after the due date.  You won’t be able to start work immediately, once they have all your paperwork and permissions in order you will receive another email letting you know when you can start working.
Much of what is in my older post Leapforce Qualification Exam Advice is still valid, so take a look at it too. You may also like my original post on Leapforce and my 2nd Year Update. Also my latest post on the mental qualities that Leapforce is looking for may help you when taking the exam.

Good luck on your exam!

  1. THANK YOU. I have been stressing over this test and have been rescheduling it out of anxiety-related procrastination. :) It's hard to find recent general information about the test and the current LP environment, so I'm very grateful to you for taking the time.

  2. I received a 15 question "look things up on the internet" qualification test, after which I was given the "thanks, but no thanks" notice. I gather that if you get the 15 question test, it's a brush-off? Is it because I don't use Google+ quite as much?

    1. I don't know what that 15 question test is, so I can't really answer this question. Maybe someone else can answer it. I only use Google + while doing rating for Leapforce, so I don't think that's a requirement.

    2. That is the base qualification exam. You must pass that exam before you can select a project, sign any paperwork or even be considered an independent contractor.

    3. Janice, out of curiosity... How long does it take to complete the average task? If there is such a thing.
Also, if you know, a project marked with an Extremely High Task Rate should expect approximately how many hours worth of work a month?

      Delete
    4. Most of the tasks seem to be around 9-10 minutes each. There are some odd tasks that you might get that only take a minute or two.

Work on Leapforce can be variable so even an Extremely High Task Rate can sometimes seem like not very much. So I can't really give you an estimate. Also I think it depends on the quality of your work, some people who are consistently good will get more tasks in their queue than those who have marginal quality.

  3. I just finished the fifth screen of questions but the system booted me out. "No tasks available, try again later." Judging from the way the browser is grinding to pull up the error message, it feels like a system problem on their end. Otheriwse I have no connectivity problems here at home. Getting same error message on mobile browser. I refreshed, rebooted, everything I can think of. I can't believe this.

I sent an email to the admin address and the exam email address, and even left a message on their voicemail, though I don't expect anything from that. I studied all week and felt I was doing OK with the exam... until it crapped out on me!

Naturally my test period expires tonight at 2am my time. I started at 11am this morning so thought I would have a nice easy Sunday taking my time on this exam. And because it's Sunday, who knows what kind of sysadmin coverage they have on the weekends? ARRRGH.

So, I guess the constructive point I might make with this existential scream of a post is: if you can, try to at least start the day before the last day? If something can go technically FUBAR, it often will. Technology is not always your friend.

    1. Keep checking your email, maybe you just finished that section. When the test works correctly it will give you the "No tasks available..." message when you finish each part. I hope that's all it was.

BUT, I agree, its Not a good idea to start the test on the last day. Leapforce does sometimes have technical issues with their server and you don't want to miss out because of that.

  4. I never received an email telling me whether I passed or not. I wasn't formally counting the questions but I didn't think I had done all 33 (x4). Five hours later, still no email or change of any kind.

I'm really annoyed but personally it's probably for the best. I hope that my experience has been a rare anomaly. Best of luck to everyone else testing.

  5. Hi Janice,
I have taken the first two parts of the exam and passed both on the first day. This type of works seems like it will be easy for me. I have not however received the third part of the exam. Every time I refresh the page it says no tasks are available. I have tried to get a hold of someone at leapforce via e-mail and phone but have not gotten any responses. I am worried my time will run out, I still have several days left, and I will fail. Do you have any suggestions on how to get a hold of someone at leapforce?
    Thanks!

    2. I also ran into this problem. I completed the first 2 parts of the exams on the first day, but since then I've had the same problem where the 3rd part of the exam hasn't become available despite following the video's instructions. It's been 4 days since then and I haven't received a reply from their phone, their admin email, or the exam email. Did you happen to use an email besides either of those to contact them?

    1. Sounds like a lot of people are having this problem. I hope its a glitch with Leapforce and they take care of it for everyone. Unfortunately I don't have any sure way to get in touch with them.

  8. Thank you for sharing us this interest information! It really helps!

But I also faced the same problem. I finished 20 questions in Part I and got the 'No tasks are currently available. Please try again later' page. Then nothing happens in the next 5 hours. No emails, no notifications, no information, no updates, nothing.
I wrote to Leapforce to explain my problem and got the answer that, either I did not receive a passing score or I did not attempt to complete the exam.
Well, maybe they also have some 'check point' inside of each part, as soon as examinee failed to reach this point/score, the next task will not be displayed.....
Or, maybe each part of the exam has a individual expiration time....

Nevertheless, I still have a question about Part I, sometime they ask 'which of the following IS True ', does it means that only one of the four sentences is True, or, there could also be multiple True ???

    1. Thanks for sharing your experience with the exam. I don't think we will ever get a straight answer about what is happening, but I wish they would answer, a lot of people are frustrated.

The "which of the following is true" is kind of confusing, it sounds like a multiple choice question where only one is true, but really you are answering True or False for each of the 4 parts of the question. In this case any number of them can be true.

  11. Hi Janice! I'm thinking about applying for Leapforce and Your blog has helped me alot in understanding the kind of job that leapforce offers. I have some questions though.
You said and I quote,"The most recent change has been that agents are now evaluating pages directly on their smartphones." Does that mean you can solely work on smartphones without having to rely on your Home PC or Laptop? I ask because that would be awesome as you can rate pages on-the-go. I know it's a home based job but can a person who travels a lot can also work to earn some side Income? Or do you still need your home PC/Laptop?
Lastly, On average, How much time it takes to complete per task?

    Thanks for sharing your experience.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Thanks for your comment. Let me clarify the smartphone rating. There are a few tasks that you can do using the smartphone only, but right now that won't be enough to earn very much. Right now you need the laptop or PC and the smartphone. You are assigned the task and mark your evaluation on the laptop, but it sends the link to your smartphone which is where you look at the landing page. Eventually as people are using more mobile devices it may change so that we are rating just on the smart phone, but there is no way to know if or when that might happen. Also there are some tasks that are still done only on the laptop or PC.

The average task takes about 10 minutes, but it can range from 1 minute to about 13.

      Hope this helps.

  12. I'm curious if the 15 timed application questions are tricky. My friend used the first website in Google searches to answer each question, then got a "Thank you for your application...check back later for more opportunities...blah blah blah" rejection note pop up at the end. That was after successfully confirming the smartphone, and answering all the questions about a high number if email contacts/Web browser usage/social media, college degree, etc. She was not willing to go to website with adult content though. What's the trick to having the application accepted?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I didn't have to do this part of the exam when I started, it seems to be a way they evaluate new applicants. Maybe another reader has more knowledge of this part and can give us some insight.

In general I think that Leapforce is looking for people who can follow instructions to the letter and think critically about the page they are evaluating. So I'm not sure there is a trick, Leapforce is looking for people who think a certain way so they can do the kind of work Leapforce is doing. BTW Leapforce never makes you evaluate sites with adult content, I have always opted out of that (although you occasionally run into it anyway).

  13. Hello!

Thank you for this post - helped steel my nerves for the exam which I recently passed! I've been working for a short while now, and was wondering how to list this on my resume? I've never had a job with an NDA before, so don't want to overstep my bounds.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Congratulations on passing the exam, I'm glad my blog helped. If I understand your question correctly, the NDA you signed just says you can't disclose HOW we do the evaluation, basically nothing about the guidelines, to others. We can disclose that we work as a contractor for Leapforce. I haven't put it on my resume but if you want to, just put the company name, say you are an independent contractor (not any employee) and that you evaluate websites, you could also add some vague description and maybe elements of the job like analysis, applying guidelines, etc.

Hope that helps. Thanks for reading my blog.

    2. Hi Janice, I'm also applying for the Yukon project. I failed my first attempt at the 3rd section and I'm wondering if it's because I may have taken too long to evaluate the tasks for the Mobile section? It was my understanding that they WANTED us to be thorough and check for things such as plagiarism, poor independent reviews, bad SC, etc - and leave comments accordingly. Are you saying the comment sections for the Mobile tasks are not required (well, not "looked at")? Also I couldn't find a timer indicator on the page to determine precisely how long it was taking to complete my tasks, so I wonder if some of my tasks may have "timed-out" and that was why I failed? The offer no feedback, so I'm quite concerned going into my re-test... Any feedback or thoughts you might have (or anyone has that I might have missed) would be greatly appreciated! Happy Thanksgiving! :)

      Delete
    3. The email I got when I was taking the exam said that the comments were not required and would not be read by them when evaluating the exam, so don't spend much time on comments. When you do the task though it requires a comment (and when you are actually doing the work you will be required to leave a comment on this type of task) but if they aren't going to use it when scoring the exam just give a quick one sentence comment.

You can time out of the server but I think that's after 20 or 30 minutes of inactivity, If you took that long to do one task I suppose its possible, but I don't think they care if you take longer than usual to do the exam.

They do want you to be thorough but when you are actually doing the work its a balance between being efficient and covering all the bases. I think for the Part 3 type of tasks Leapforce estimates it should take you 8 minutes in normal practice. You can definitely take longer in the exam but I don't think it should take more than 15 minutes to do one task.

They don't provide a timer, but there are timers online and on your phone if you want to see how long it is taking you, but don't obsess about how long its taking,

I hope this helps. Good luck!

I pass 1 and 2 easily, but consistently fail the 3rd part. Anybody have any advice for me on why I might be failing only the 3rd part? I have the opportunity to take it a 3rd time, but not sure I want to try again.

Thanks for any help in advance

  16. Hi Janice , can you please elaborate the system through which they do the payout . And what's the minimum payout ? I'm from India , I'm registered on paypal
Another question, if it says 7$per hour , n if I work incompetently during that hour , would they still pay me ?
Kindly reply at your earliest !

    1. I'm not sure if things work the same for you in India. In the US they pay by direct deposit to our checking accounts. I don't think there is a minimum payout, its just whatever you earn each month. In the last question did you mean "incomplete" ? If you don't work a full hour you are paid for the portion of the hour that you did work.

I hope this helps. Thanks for reading my blog.

  17. I am so happy I found your blog, so far it has had most of the information I am looking for. I am curious about the time vs. task requirement. I have read that you need to complete 200 tasks per month to remain qualified to work. Does that mean there is no set hourly time block?

I am a stay home Mom, with an 18 month old. I would have to log in an out if she is awake and in need of attention. Would that be a problem, or could I just complete one task , then log out and log back in when I am able?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Thanks for your question and for reading my blog. There is no set time you have to work, its is entirely up to you to set your schedule. You do have to work enough to do the 200 tasks per month or they will restrict you and you'll have to qualify again to get back to work on that project.

It could be difficult with a little one requiring your attention too. You can log in and out when you need to, but if you are doing that a lot it will be a challenge to keep track of your time, so you'll need to plan how you are going to do that. In order to get paid you have to submit an invoice with the time worked for each day. You work through their server so they know when you are logged in and working, so you can't just estimate your time. If you are not accurate in reporting your time they will hold up payment while the discrepancy is resolved.

I hope that helps. Good luck!

  23. Hello. When I click the link letting LeapForce know that I intend to retake the exam, will I have to take it immediately? Or will I be given a similar schedule as before - an email notification about when I can start the test (a few days out to study) and a deadline for completing exams?

Also, I've had trouble finding out the length of time the exams will take. Assuming I pass the first, am I then expected to complete 2nd (and 3rd) immediately? I need to schedule an appropriate block of time given my other responsibilities.

Tips for those thinking about taking the exam:

    1) Pay close attention to the deadline of 12:00 am. I made this mistake the first time and see that others have too. For example, if it says that the deadline is 12:00 am Monday it is the end of the day SUNDAY. I had it in my head that the deadline was midnight Monday and missed the first deadline. I was allowed to retake the exam and did not pass. They've invited me to retake it.

    2) ... and speaking of the deadline. Schedule your time accordingly leading up to when they say you can actually begin the exam and the deadline for completion. It sneaks up on you quickly. The study guide is long and can take some time clicking the links to review actual website screenshots. Schedule some blocks of time to study in advance of the deadline. Don't wait until the day of the exam deadline. As others have said, if you don't study the guidelines you will not pass the test ... no matter how smart, analytical, or web savvy you are. You'll must learn the Leapforce language and abbreviations (i.e. PQ, YMYL, etc.).

    3) Print out the guidelines! I can't emphasize this enough. I did a ton of studying, but cheaped out on printing it. I didn't want to burn up all my printer ink and it was around $18.00 to print out at Fed X Office. (I thought I could just toggle back and forth if needed between the Guideline PDF file and the live exam but it was too cumbersome and stressful. I didn't know if I was being timed as to how long it took me to answer each question. Don't be penny-wise and pound foolish if you really want to get this job!

I hope this helps someone and good luck! If nothing else, I've learned a lot of things from this process that I can apply to other professional work I do as well as my personal use of the Internet. Even if I'm not hired, I've gotten something useful out of it. (Though the downside is that I desperately need a flex job like this and I'm not earning $$$ for all the time this is taking.)

on other note i made the exams and failed the 3rd part, i guess forgot to comment on the results a friend told me since we are applying for non english position they really look into the comment stuff so the second time i made sure i commented on every single thing. i did a retake and pass the first 2 parts and my due date to know the result for the 3rd part was 3 days ago. Until now i got no answer if i failed or not. Do you know if this means i failed and will not hear from them again? they said in the email with the exam directions they will not answer any email asking for exam status. I'm a bit lost here, if you fail the retake they will not give you any update on the results and just forget you ever exist?

  27. Hey guys, I have a question. I have failed part 3 twice, next week is my last attempt. I have read the guidelines so many times, and I simply dont understand, what im doing wrong in part 3. Do you have any recommendations on how to approach it? I usually rated if the query was met, and then i googled the website to find out about their EAT. I worked very carefully, is there a chance i didnt pass because I was slow? Any other tips of what is important in part 3?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Its really hard to tell what you are doing wrong, but I don't think they time you when doing the exam, so its probably not because you are too slow. The only suggestion I have is to focus on the examples they give and try to relate what you are rating to their examples. I know that's hard, but when you are working you have to be able to do that. I have problems with this sometimes myself. They want you to think about the pages you are rating exactly the way they do. They don't want you to think for your self, for instance I personally think Twitter is worthless, but if its related to the query I have to rate it highly. So the trick is to think they way they do, and you can only figure that out with the guidelines and their examples.

**I'm going to take this opportunity to talk to everyone about the kind of questions I can answer on this blog. When you get the job you will have to sign a confidentiality agreement which says you can't discuss the specifics of the guidelines publicly. So if you ask specific questions on how to rate something I can't answer it here. If your comment doesn't show up on the blog, that's probably why and I have no other way to tell you. Sorry about that, but I'll help in any other way I can, and thanks for reading the blog.**

    2. Thank you to Janice and others for this very helpful page.

A couple of things I've found that may be of interest to others:

Many people report a short time between initial application and getting invited to take the exam. In my case it was about 3 months so don't give up hope!

The email I received relating to part 3 had a link to a video which was, in part, incorrect. The email also referred to some instructions that I didn't have! I'm still not sure whether this was all part of some initiative test! My advice therefore is if there is anything you don't understand email back quickly. Having said that I emailed twice (as hours were ticking by with no reply) and got conflicting replies, one of which didnt come through for 3 days.

  28. I have passed parts 1 & 2 of the exam but am unable to locate the part of the website to setup my smartphone. I watched the video but the first step is to login to the leapforce page. When I do that there is nothing for a mobile device set up. I emailed the company but was wondering if you have any insight? I only have 2 days left to complete Part 3!

    1. The file you want is called "Send to Device Instructions". It should be under "helpful links" on the Yukon project page. Hope this helps.

    2. I don't know if this still helps.. but you don't have to register your device to take the test. All I did was sign on my google account on my device on the chrome browser and I was able to open any website that was sent from the test page

    3. I passed part 1, opened part 2 and selected cancel option because I wanted to do it later, but for some reason I was sent directly to part 3 when I tried accessing again.

Like you I was not able to set up my phone for 3rd part and was ignored by leapforce :( I'mean taking it again, I'mean gonna try what anonymous from January 31 suggested.

  29. Awesome post, Janice! I have just received an invitation to qualify for the Yukon project. I haven't touched the link yet though, as I wanted to familiarize myself with Leapforce practices a bit before I engage in the qualification process. I wonder if you use a special program or spreadsheet to keep up with your 'work from home' jobs? I have seen where people who work multiple online jobs have said it is important to track your hours. I would love to have a system in place and ready prior to starting online work. Thanks so much for all of the clarifying info you have given.

    1. Hi Alex, thanks for your question. I don't use any special program, but I use an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of all my finances. I just set up the spreadsheet in the way it is most useful to me, you might have other ideas. I do a separate section for each month, I have columns for date, time worked, total time per day, amount earned. Then you can total the columns. But you should do whatever works best for you.

    2. Wow, Janice! You are absolutely awesome. And thorough! Thank you for your response. I have one other question I hope I might ask you. I postponed my first exam date, with the hopes that it would give me additional time to review the guidelines. Now I wonder if the links provided with my 'exam scheduled date' email (the links lead to general guidelines with multiple links on each of the pages I have visited so far) are, in fact, the guidelines I will be studying for the exam or if I will be sent actual guidelines (for some reason I thought it was sent as a .pdf file) the day the exam is scheduled? Thanks for any amplifying information on the matter. I hope I stated my inquiry with enough clarity for it to make sense! :/

      Delete
    3. Thanks for the compliments Alex! I'm glad to be able to help. Yes the online guidelines are the same as the ones you will get in the pdf. I think they are just trying to keep the guidelines from getting released to the public, so if they aren't sure you are serious about taking the exam they don't give you the link. You will get the link to the pdf when your exam starts, that will make it easier for you to search the document and scroll through during the exam. Good luck!

  30. Actually another question I have that I hope you may be able to answer is whether the websites you have to evaluate can cause damage to your computer. I do have anti-virus software installed, however in the back of my mind I am a tad concerned about going to sites that I normally wouldn't go to that may infect my computer. Is this a reasonable concern, in your opinion? Have you had any issues thus far with possible viruses/ attacks?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Thanks for the question, this is an important issue to consider when working for Leapforce. You will sometimes go to a website that will try to install a virus on your computer. I use Norton and I've been doing this for 3 years and so far Norton has caught everything before it did any harm. I'm not selling Norton, other software might work just as well. You should be careful when the website looks suspicious, don't even try to click on anything. I find the most consistently troublesome sites are the ones that claim to play free movies online.

I don't have antivirus software on my smartphone, but when I get a pop-up telling me my system is out of date or there's a virus while visiting an unknown site I just close the entire window, even clicking on the X can set off a download.

Bottom line, it is always possible so you should take every precaution. Leapforce does not require that you visit malicious sites, add a note to your evaluation if it looks dangerous or your antivirus software warns you.

    1. Yes, you have to answer them all either TRUE or FALSE, don't leave any of them unanswered.

Thanks for writing your post. It has really calmed my nerves regarding the test
I had some questions regarding Part 1 of the test. When they ask you to select the answer which is feasible in a set, do I leave the other questions blank or do I choose false? Also What is the time limit for part 1?

    1. For part 1 you have to answer them ALL either TRUE or FALSE, don't leave any unanswered. There is no time limit, take your time and read all the questions carefully, look at the guidelines if you need to for help. Good Luck!

  34. HELP! I have passed parts 1 and 2 of the qualification exam, the clock is ticking, and I don't have a link to install the RaterHub app yet. There is a PDF that explains what to do, and I have followed the instructions, but it mentions that I might have to contact my "vendor" if I am having "permission issues." My question: what is my vendor? Is it my service provider, the manufacturer of my phone, or some other entity? Please help; there are literally NO links within Leapforce for this kind of issue.

  35. So I just finished part 3 of the exam, and probably about 4 tasks in I noticed the little comment button. I guess I was looking for an actual box like the instruction email said. I know someone posted that they received an email stating that the comments were not a requirement, but I would have preferred to be thorough. Does anyone know if this will affect me passing or not?

  37. Hi Janice,

I have got the email from Leapforce saying my exam is scheduled on Wednesday, March 30, 2016. Also they are provided 5 days to complete it. My question is, can I read and study the guidelines first and then appear for the exam before the due date? Or do I need to complete the exam on 30th itself?

    1. They give you a date that the exam starts, and a date when the exam is due, it must be completed by the due date. You can complete the exam any time between the start date and the due date.

  41. Hello Janice,

First of all hats of to you for your valuable time and comments. I passed all the parts of the qualification exam and waiting for paperwork to get done. I am too late to your blog since I missed important info on qualification, but for me everything went smoothly and got through.

Now my question for you is that once after I start working how often I get work for a day is it limited tasks or can I go through all of my free time.

How about the payment it's through wire transfer I heard, do they pay monthly o weekly and how much time they take to process after our invoice.

And can we give a try on another project as well while working for yukon, means can we handle two o three projects for them, any idea on this.

Thanks a lot in advance and looking forward for your reply.

    1. Congratulations on passing the exam! I can't tell you how much work you will be given to do, the amount of work varies. When you first start working they will limit how much work they give you, they want to see how well you are doing at the actual tasks first. Once you have shown them you are doing the work correctly you will get more. How much work you have also depends on the amount of work that is available, sometimes the amount of work goes down, especially in summer and around the holidays.

In the US payment is made by direct deposit to the account you designate. If you are in another country, I'm not sure. You are paid monthly. You will submit an invoice on the first day of each month, and you will be paid in approximately 20-25 days after that.

Sometimes you are given the opportunity to work on other projects, you will receive an email when new projects are starting.

      Good luck!

  42. Hi
I took the exam the first time and I got confused with the instructions I thought I started the exam and then left it un answered, couldn't make it pass the first stage. But now I am very nervous because I know is my last shot, would you help me with some questions I am doubting on?

    1. Hi Isabel,

I can help you understand the instructions, but because I still work for Leapforce and signed a non-disclosure agreement I can't discuss the guidelines or how to rate the webpages.

Also if you or anyone else wants individual advice, that's not what I do here. This blog is just for general information for anyone who wants to read it.

I know the instructions and guidelines can be confusing, but part of the job and part of passing the exam is being able to understand them.

Let me know if I can help within those parameters, and good luck.

  44. Hello Janice,
Thank you for your time and effort.
I took the exam twice, passed first two parts and failed the third on both occasions.
When retaking the exam, I had to start over from part one.
I thought I did well on the third part, I sent URLs to mobile, opened, and rated on the desktop.
Any idea what I might be doing wrong? Or it might be the rating that is not as expected. I tried to follow the guidelines. Any advice?

  45. This is a fabulous post, by the way.

However, I am peeved at Leapforce and their lack of technical support, and having issues just like a few Anons last year.

I have been attempting to start the first part of the exam for the past two days, and each and every time Rater Hub displays "No tasks are currently available. Please try again later." I understand that this is what is supposed to appear when you complete a section of the exam, but I haven't even been able to start one.

I, too, have attempted to contact Leapforce, via a number of emails and a phone call, but expect nothing from them.

My question to you is if you know what will happen if I miss my deadline (5.23.16) due to these technical problems? Will I be able to retest, or am I just SOL?

    1. Dylan,

Sorry you are having trouble and Leapforce isn't helping. I don't know why they are like that. I think you will have to wait to see if they offer you an opportunity to retest.

BTW, once you are working for them they do respond to your questions and technical issues, so they aren't always unresponsive. For some unknown reason they seem to ignore people who are taking the exam.

Good luck, I hope this all works out for you.

    2. Janice,

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I was lucky enough to have time yesterday to keep checking the Rater Hub site throughout the day, and was pleased to find tasks available around 3 in the afternoon! I have just now completed the 2nd part of the test, and am awaiting the response on if I passed or not.

What I can take from this is that there may be times when the tests are live or not on the Rater Hub site, or that they may have some server troubles occasionally. If anyone else out there experiences something similar to me, I encourage hem to BE PERSISTANT and check again a little later.

Thanks again for running this blog, and responding so promptly. Good luck to all the other testers out there!

  48. Good day

Thank you for the great blog! I past part 1 & 2 and failed part 3. I am retaking the exam next week. Your article 'Develop These Mental Qualities to Increase Your Success with Leapforce' were very useful. I studied really hard the first time, but I think my mindset wasn't right on part 3. Thank you again and do you maybe have any other tips on how I should approach part 3 of the Exam?

  49. I tried not to read too much about the whole exam process because I didn't want to get too worked up about it so I'm finally reading your posts in depth now after having finished the exam. Fantastic info! Hopefully I'll get a chance to experience being a SEE for LF.

I applied last Friday and received word the next morning that I would be taking the exam that Monday! Yikes. No time to read the guidelines until Day 1 of the exam week. I took 3 days to make sure I understood the info and started Part 1 on the 4th day. I just finished Part 3 yesterday and am awaiting word on whether or not I passed. I ran into a few problems/glitches, though during the exam.

The first is that my smartphone died the morning I was going to start Part 2. The instructions I received said that I wouldn't need my smartphone until Part 3. Good thing I went ahead and replaced my phone promptly because I ended up needing it for Part 2 as well!

Also, in Part 2, some questions were about a section of the guidelines that must have been in an earlier version, but were removed in the most recent one because I couldn't find any info about it in what I had studied! I used my common sense and a little bit of luck and passed anyway, lol.

Then in Part 3, I timed out of the very 1st page of questions. Cripes! It was a stupid thing on my part - I was doing some non-LF things during that time and should have just focused on the test. Anyway, I forged ahead with the exam thinking that maybe my chances of retaking it will improve if they see how I did on the rest of the exam. About 3 or 4 question blocks in, the very same questions as the 1st page showed up! I didn't take as long the 2nd time, lol.

Anyway, one thing about my experience that differs from what you have written above is that the instructions now require applicants to leave thorough comments for each result block/question. I emailed LF twice during the week and never received a response to my questions too.

All in all, the exam was a pretty grueling and time-consuming process. Now I wait to see if I get a chance to retake it and go through this all again, lol!

    2. That did work. It is the correct choice -- although it should be noted that Leapforce suppport told me it was the wrong choice, even if all questions on the displayed page were answered. I was told it is designed to be taken without a break.

However, that said, I live in a rural area where we do have excellent wireless internet but if there is a bad winter storm, we can lose internet connection. That happened to me on Saturday when I was in the middle of Exam 2, Question 1. My internet connection was not restored until 11 am the following day. When I brought the exam up to start again, it said the question had expired. I completed the remaining questions in 4 hours (talk about being very careful -- and that is after a week of all day and evening study, note-taking, example review, self-testing of examples). I was highly stressed but felt thoroughly prepared. I have worked online since the internet became publicly available and wanted this as supplemental while I stop directly serving clients and move to developing my own income-producing online sites.

I finished the exam and almost immediately received an email telling me that I had failed due to failure to complete the entire exam. I was told in the email to shred all exam materials.

I cried for a moment. And then I thought that I was grateful to learn the guide as it helps with SEO tasks.

I am now a young widow and my cats are so helpful. They got a lot of petting last night. I know petting cats is calming and good for the blood pressure. Glad I have two -- one for each side of me.

      Thank you for your help.
