Leapforce Qualification Exam Advice

Recently several people have asked me about the Leapforce qualification exam so I thought I’d write a short post to address this kind of question.  I can tell from what people are asking that the exam is very different now from the one I took 2 years ago, so my experience taking the exam probably won’t help any of you taking it now.  When I took the exam I was tested on only one type of evaluation task, and I don’t think they even use that task anymore, at least I haven’t seen it in over a year.  So the best I can do is give you general advice.

What Leapforce is testing is how well you can follow instructions, and how well you can understand and apply the guidelines when evaluating a landing page or website.  Therefore, the best advice I can give is to study the guidelines, go over the examples they provide until you understand what they want.  Do not try to apply your own criteria when making an evaluation—Leapforce wants everyone evaluating the same way so everyone must use the guidelines and not their own opinions.

It may seem like a lot of studying that you aren’t being paid for, but if you enjoy doing this type of work it will pay off in the end.  Leapforce pays the best of the work-at-home opportunities I’ve researched.  It’s good to have a back-up source of income when Leapforce doesn’t have enough work to keep you busy, but I still rely on my Leapforce income a lot.

To everyone taking the qualification exam:  Study hard and good luck!

    1. Sorry to hear that. I'm not sure about the number of questions you have to get right, but I think it is either 75 or 80%. The first part of the test can be tricky. I advise anyone taking it to read the questions very carefully and really think about it before answering.

    2. Hi there! Thankyou for your blog. Has very useful info. I'm in Spain i have passed all the test so now I'm an independent Leapforce agent! At the moment I will start working in a project for Spain, but what happens when this project comes to an end? Can I work in other projects for other countries?

  4. Hi,Did you get any exam simulator sent to you for practice?

    1. When I qualified there was an exam simulator on my Leapforce home page. There should be a tab that says "Simulations".

If there is someone with more recent experience maybe they can add their input. I qualified 2.5 years ago.

  5. Hi. I, too, am very interested in joining Leapforce. Here's my question, though. How long does it typically take for them to just REVIEW your application before they even tell you whether or not you can take the test? That is, I submitted my application on Monday of last week (July 22). Yet, I haven't heard anything at all back from them, and when I go to the Agent Login page, it still says under Qualification Steps "IN PROGRESS - Basic qualification package to be reviewed by Leapforce." I'm sure they're busy and receive many applicants, but it still seems to me like it's taking quite a while. Is this typical?

    1. When I applied 2.5 years ago I got a response in a few days.

Maybe if someone has applied more recently they can tell us about their experience.

I would wait until next week and maybe try contacting Leapforce if you still have no response. But if they are that busy, you still might not get a response to your email.

I hope you hear from them soon.

  6. I applied today and got immediately asked to qualify, but I keep reading about a book of "guidelines" and I haven't received any, so I don't want to try to qualify without first studying the guidelines.

    1. They should send you instructions on how to download the guidelines. If you can already log in to your rater home page on Leapforce you will find pdf files there of the guidelines that you need to learn.

      Good luck!

    2. I applied today and clicked on the "qualify" button which sent me an email that they are scheduling my test for next monday (but you have seven days to take it). In the email this is what it says about guidelines:

On your scheduled exam date, you will be sent a link to the General Guidelines. Your chances of passing the qualification exam are very low if you attempt to take the qualification exam without first carefully studying the content in the guidelines.

  7. In case anyone else has been searching...
I'm about to take part 3. I had read posts on various sites in which previous applicants mention a link to an exam simulator for practicing before the test. Well, after driving myself crazy looking for the link or some way to access the simulator, I emailed Leapforce and the response I received was that they no longer offer it.

  8. Hello,
I just passed Part 3 and I am waiting for the answer if it was succesful or not. For Part 1 and 2 , the email with "Congratulations" arrived a few minutes later, but now I am waiting since some hours. Do you know how long does it take to get the final answer? Do you know as well how they proceed? Will I be able to start working immediately or will I have to complete some other things before? Thx for your answer (I passed the test for FRANCE and I do not know how much the work will be paid)

    1. I passed the test over 2 years ago and the test was different then, it was only 2 parts for one thing. I think it was 1 or 2 days before I heard the final results of the test, and yes, the response to the first part of the test was almost immediate.

I hope you have received another "Congratulations" email by now, but if you still haven't heard, don't worry it may take a few days. Maybe if someone has more recent experience they can comment here about it.

Once you are accepted to work for Leapforce there are some legal and tax documents you have to complete before you can begin work. I'm not sure how long that will take in France, but once you complete those documents you can begin work.

      Best of luck to you!

    2. Hi Girl from France, I have a question for you.
Did you eventually pass the test?
I will receive the test material on Thursday, I hope to pass it so I can make a bit of money.... But I don't know if it's worth working (apparently) so hard on the exam.
I couldn't find any information about how much and how the work is paid in France. Do you have more info now? Can you please share some details?
      Thanks a lot :)

    1. Sorry, but you really do have to learn the guidelines pretty well. I don't think there is any one thing that is more important than any other. The first part of the exam, which is more like taking a test than the other parts, is "open book" so you can refer to the guidelines while you take it. My best advice on that part of the exam is to read the questions VERY carefully, I won't call them trick questions, but they are tricky. Be sure to consider every aspect of the question, don't answer quickly, stop and think about each question.

The second part of the "exam" is actually doing the kind of rating tasks you will read about in the guidelines and like what you will be doing when you are working for Leapforce. Again you can refer to the guidelines while you work through them.

Don't stress about it, stress can have a negative effect on memory and lead to bad decisions. Read the guidelines, look at the examples they provide, take your time and do your best. Good Luck!

If any readers have additional advice, your input is welcome here.

    1. You can take a break and look over the guidelines again, but I wouldn't wait too long to start part 2. It has been over 2 years since I passed the exam but they only gave me a week to complete the whole thing. As I recall the second part of the exam took a long time to complete; so you don't want to get in a rush at the end.

If anyone else has any more recent experience please let us know.

    3. When you are working for Leapforce you sign a confidentiality agreement that limits what you can say. That's why I can't tell you specifically what's on it. Because I am the owner of the blog, if anyone else made a comment that violated my confidentiality agreement I would not publish it here. Once you have been accepted to take the exam you will get information from Leapforce that will make it clear what you need to know to pass the exam.

But on the second and third parts, can we start each test, save it and come back to it later? (only an hr or 2 later) Or, once I start part 2 for example do I have to complete it then and there.

    1. I took the exam over 2 years ago and I know it has changed since then, but when I took it you could do the second part in several sessions. That part is the practical part of the exam in which you will be doing tasks that are just like you will do when you are working. You should be able to log in and out and work on it on your own time.

If anyone with more recent experience wants to comment, please do.

Thanks for your question and good luck on the exam.

    2. Yes, you can.
In the 2nd and 3rd steps, after each result page or block you can "submit and stop", or something like that, so that you can return to the test later. They are very long, after all.

  16. WOW!!! I passed the leapforce exam on my 2nd try. I passed the first two parts on my first try but didn't pass the 3rd part. Unfortunately, they don't let you take just the part you failed over. It's all or nothing. But, I did it. It was definitely not an easy test!! The first 2 parts were not that hard for me but the 3rd part was a lot more difficult to do for me.
If you plan on taking the exam, all I can say is know the guidelines inside and out and review the examples. Between the 2 times I studied for the exam I probably read all the guidelines 3 times and took lots of notes and then reviewed my notes a time or two before each part of the exam. Use “control/find” in the PDF guidelines for the 1st part. It will help. The second part they tell you what to find on the webpage after you pull up the URL so, as long as you know how to find the info they want you to find on the webpage/website and what the guidelines require in order to answer yes, no, or so-so to the question, you should be ok. The third part.... I'll say it again... STUDY THE GUIDELINES!!! The 3rd part is where you put everything from the 1st, 2nd parts and guidelines together. Don’t go into it thinking you will just look the answers up as you go along. You probably could do it that way but it would take you a long… long time. It probably took me at least 7 or 8hrs to finish the whole test (parts 1, 2 and 3) each time I took it. Not to mention all the time I spent reading and re-reading things. GOOD LUCK! Hope it was all worth it :)

  17. I only want to work a couple hrs a week for the 1st couple months until I get the hang of it and some feedback on some tasks. Is that possible? Or does Leap Force want you to work a min. # for hours each wk?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Although you can set your own schedule I would suggest working more than a couple hours a week. I'm not sure if Leapforce has a minimum requirement, so I don't want to steer you wrong. I have usually worked at least 1hr per day and I think a schedule like that will help you get used to it while also gaining the experience you need to do a good job. They do cut you some slack as far as the quality of your work goes when you are new, but you definitely want to pay attention to their feedback. That said, you should try working a little more than 2hrs a week and then decide what works best for you. Good Luck!

  18. Hi everyone,

first of all, I want to thank Janice for sharing all the information about Leapforce, they were very helpful. I wish I'd red this thread BEFORE taking an exam, as I didn't pass it, but I hope there is a second chance, as I was told.

Let me share with you my experience: I applied from Italy, as it is my country of residence, and my application was accepted almost immediately. Unfortunately, there wasn't an exam project in Italian, so I decided to accept the Yukon project, which was described as "demanding" or something like that.

I was scheduled for November 11, but I took the exam only yesterday, November 15. It took me more than 3 days just to read carefully the guidelines in English. At the end I was quite sure that I understood the whole mechanism, probably because it was something I was somehow dealing with in the past (I was working as a web designer and a content editor for more than 10 years). The theoretical part (level 1) was tricky, but I've passed it. After 5 minutes the second part was available and I took it, too. I was quite sure I did it well (because of my previous profession), but after 5 minutes or so, I find out that I didn't pass it. That answer was generated automatically, saying I'll have another opportunity, but still I can't understand where did I go wrong.

Next time (if any), I'll read the guidelines more than once for the 1st level, and I'll stamp both text and examples for the 2nd and 3rd level, just to be sure that I'm completely applying the right mechanism.

  20. Hi Janice,
I'm asking this as a former contractor with Leapforce who is now trying to start back up with them. The reason I quit in the first place was just about each task I would receive was different and required me to review all the guidelines (for which I could not bill). So I spent more time reading and studying the guidelines for each task than I did actually completing billable tasks. Was this the same for you?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That did happen a bit when I first started almost 3 years ago, but not as often as you suggest. Currently there are different tasks that require you to read instructions, but that only takes a minute or so. I think once you learn the general guidelines they apply to most any task you do except for the experimental things that have short instructions to read.

Give Leapforce another try, it is run differently now than it was when I started.

      Delete
    2. Almost every task I was assigned had completely new and very detailed instructions (requiring significantly more than 1 minute to review). I spent way more time reading the instructions than I did completing the actual tasks. I will give it another try, perhaps now will be different.

It wasn't until half way through the exam I remembered the comment box. I couldn't go back because there was no way to. So my question is do all the ratings need to have a comment left? as soon as I realized I added a comment on the ratings I had left. I also mailed them immediately afterwards and explained what had happened,....argh i have studied so hard for this I feel like I could cry :(

    1. When I took the exam 3 years ago I remember the instructions said I should leave a comment on every task. They want to know what you are thinking and why you rated it the way you did. I do not know if it is required though.

A lot of people who did not pass the third part are saying they were given a second chance. Hopefully you did well enough on your ratings that you will pass even without the comments. When you get past the first month of working for Leapforce comments are only required on some tasks and if it is required you will not be able to submit the task until you enter a comment.

I hope you passed. Maybe if someone else knows if comments are required they can reply here and let us know.

    1. The amount of available work varies, it is usually pretty low in summer and right now around the holidays. It can also vary with the number of projects you are qualified to work on, so it is always a good idea to try to qualify for as many as you can. They may also dole out more work to those who consistently perform better on their monthly evaluations, but I am not sure about that. You are paid the amount they advertise and you are paid once a month usually between the 21st and 25th of the month.

  33. Just passed part 1 of the Yukon exam. It was hard! About 100 or so individual questions. 20 individual questions per page, broken into 5 parts. Took me several sittings to finish, logging out while taking breaks. I did not get through reading the entire general guidelines document, but instead used the search function.

  34. I finished taking part I of the Yukon qualification exam three days ago, but have never received an email telling me if I passed or failed. This same thing happened the first time I tried to qualify, and I was given a second chance. Here is what happens: part I of the exam task appears on my Evaluation Platform screen for Project Yukon. I click to start the task, and a page with 5 questions appears. I complete and submit those and a second page with 5 more questions appears. I complete and submit those and the browser kicks me back to the Evaluation Platform screen, which shows no tasks available.

The next day the Exam I task appears again with new questions.

Has anyone else had this happen? What should I do?

    1. Keep answering whatever they provide. I thought I was taking the test over and over again, but there were actually just a ton of questions in part 1. Weird though, my results and part II were instantaneously e-mailed to me after finishing part 1 (which did appear as "no tasks").

    2. This is exactly what is happening to me right now on Part 1 Yukon exam. Only 5 questions are loading without an option of getting to page 2. I submitted it once yesterday and today I see questions 1 through 5 again. I did another set of those and clicked "submit". I fear that this is technical issue and that I am indeed just answering the first 5 questions over and over :)

  35. I just passed all portions of my Yukon Exam. The only tips that I can give you is to read the guidelines they give to you. Read everything and try to understand everything that is in it. It is easier taking the exam when you read the guidelines first rather than taking the exams while using the guidelines that you have not read. You will understand and see a whole different picture of how to evaluate search engines. I did not know anything about SEO until I read the guidelines very very carefully and put a great amount of time into reading the whole 137 pages of it. I also advise to read the exams on the online PDF so you can click the links of the examples they show. Read the guidelines then take the exam. If you are stuck on some parts of the exam you can always go back to your guidelines. It will be easier to answer harder questions or evaluate harder queries and pages when you read the guidelines first, because you will know where to go back to find the information. The guides are there for a reason so use them to your advantage! I'm 18 years old so I'm sure many other people should not have trouble with these exams. Good luck to everyone taking their exams!

    1. I can't really suggest the best way to organize your time but my advice on studying the guidelines is to click on the examples they give so you can fully understand what they are looking for.

Try to understand as much as you can of the guidelines before you take the exam, but also keep the pdf of the guidelines open on your computer when you take the exam for quick reference.

    1. I took the exam so long ago that I can't be sure how many are on it now. I think it was over 100 when I took it. I think of it more as their way of training new workers than strictly an exam, and it takes a lot of time to train someone to do this job. Of course they are also evaluating whether you can apply the guidelines and do a good job. I agree, its a lot of work to complete the exam, but at least for me it has been worth it. Good luck on the exam!

Maybe someone who took the exam more recently can let us know how many tasks were on it.

    1. Not only CAN you take a break, I strongly encourage it. I took all three tests the first time in a row and failed the third exam. When I took the exams the second time, I took my time. Took a day between exams and took two days to complete the third one. Know the guidelines and use them during the exams.

    2. I did all three of them at once. I started around 9:45 PM and finished at about 3:45 AM. I did take some short breaks in there, and I was completely over it by the time the 3rd exam rolled around. Don't wait until the last day to submit the test! Mine was submitted about 40 minutes past the 12 am PST deadline but they still said I passed and extended employment to me!

It didn't let me to submit the page without make a comment. I am very confused about that comment part please let me know What i need to do in my second exam (next time)??

  44. Hi, I have a few questions I'm hoping someone can answer for me! I'm taking my test on Monday, if I were to be hired how long would it take to receive my first paycheck? Also, is there a maximum amount of hours I can work? I know it depends on available tasks, but say there are 40+ hours per week worth of tasks.. Would I be able to work and get paid for that much?

And lastly, my cousin wants to apply too, but he doesn't want to if they are going to run a background check (he got into some trouble about 5 years ago that is still on his record), so does anyone know if they run a background check for at home agents? Do they even collect your social right away since you are an independent contractor?

Thanks so much for your help!

    1. - Your first paycheck is given to you after your first 30 days of work. Maybe in 5, 10, 15, 20 days... I'm get paid via PayPal;

      - As a newbie, you can work just one hour per day. When you are contracted, you get a level as an agent, from 1 to 3. You start as a Level 1 agent. You do some simulator tasks, and if you do it well done you're gonna turn it agent 2, where you can work 2 hours per day, Doing some more good tasks you turn agent 3 (4 hours per day). After that, and finally, if you get good grades and good etc... you will be selected to work when you want and the day long, if there are tasks available, of course, you may work unlimited.

      - I think there are no problems or the government taking his cousin's rights away, once you will receive a PayPal payment ( I guess)... But I sugest you to ask it to some US agente. I am Brazilian agent.

      Good luck!
      ;)

    2. So which is it? Are you paid after 30,10,15 or 20 days??

    3. You submit your invoice on the 1st day of the month, if they don't find any discrepancies with your invoice you will be paid within 30 days. I usually get my pay around the 21st of the month.

I did it and around five hours later I could do more questions but I'm not sure if these new task belong to second part or three. Is it supposed that if you pass part two they sent you an email, don't they? Another question. Is anybody preparing right now the exam? I think we could help each other exchanging thoughts about it.

  46. Hello guys :)
I took the 1st part of the exam last week and I failed though it seemed very easy for me with my experience (I own 2 websites and run a blog). I also studied the guidelines for 2 days before the exam.
Now I can tell you that some Questions might be tricky or Answers might be tricky as well. Pay attention! That's where came my misunderstanding.

I need your advice about the 1st part guys.
So there is a question with 4 answers we need to choose: True, False for each of the answers.
I'm just not familiar with that kind of system. Please tell me, do I need to check mark all answers? or just 1 that is really a True statement and 1 that is really a False statement, and leave Blanks in those where I can't find the exact statement (true nor false) in the guidelines.

    Please Help :)
I'm retaking my exam the next week.

    1. Mark either True or False for all questions and answers. Remember it says check all that apply. So check mark True for an answer you think is True and then False for a False one. If you leave any blank it will be counted as a wrong answer. I took Part 1 and passed, hope that helps and good luck.

I've just taken the first part of the exam for the second time and was confident that i passed but they informed me that i failed but they didn't tell me what i missed making it hard for me to get any kind of closure because i worked really hard studying and taking this test. I was confident and now if feel duped because i don't even know if they would have even hired me even if i had of passed the test. at least let me know what i missed and showed me that i fell and give me some closure.

  48. So, I took part one of the exam and never got an answer. How do I know if I passed or failed? I'm actually confident I did well, but I don't know. I didn't get an e-mail from them and when I go back to the test page and it says "no tasks currently available", but every coment I've read so far says they got an answer right away. I'm afraid I'm missing something. Did anyone have this happen? What should I do?

  49. That exam is really hard and consumes a lot of time to prepare. And even if you pass you can be fired the next week if you are not doing as they want you to do. My friend was kicked out like that without any explanation, but she really tried to do her best.

And I just wasted 2 weeks of my life studying the Guidelines (I'm happy I have lots of free time to spend) There are one kind of rules for the exam in emails that they sent to you, and completely other when you start answering the questions.
You can NOT have and give your opinion at all, if it is even slightly differs from LF you will Not pass!
Lots of questions are really tricky. You have to be lucky or you have to be a robot.

I passed parts 1 and 2 coz the answers were really in the quidelines. I failed part 3.
Took another week to study the guidelines, Failed part 3 again.
No explanation, Nothing! Not even how many % I was wrong. No feedback at all. They don't give a s^1t about you.
Are they only accept robots to work for them?

I've tried another company, Much clearer rules and I passed with the 1st attempt. Really happy with them now ).

So if you failed 1 time for LF, don't even bother to study hard again, take your 2nd chance but don't waste lots of time. It might be really not for you and for a good reason :) There are lots of other opportunities to accept and be happy!

  55. Thank you all for sharing informations and experiencies...they have been really useful for me!

I just completed the third part and I am waiting for the final result. I don't want to repeat the things others have already clearly stated, but I'd like to add something not covered (I skimmed through the comments, so maybe there will be repetitions! :D):

    - I found some of the questions on part 1 tricky, as well as others said, still I passed it, so in my experience studying Guidelines and using them for doubts during the test turned out to be a good advice.

    - I had some procedural doubts during part 2: make sure the Evaluation Platform shows you the "No tasks are currently available. Please try again later." writing, since I stopped once during the process thinking I was done and avoiding cliking on the "search for other tasks" (or whatever) button.
Nothing serious, but I waited for the results for a while before thinking better on it and understand I had to go on evaluating :D.

    - Schedule breaks is also a good advice: it took me a lot of time going through part 2 and expecially part 3 (even because I am quite anxious, that's to be said), also part 3 requires a (small) amount of time to "prepare" the phone

    - They inform you that comments are not necessary during the test, but when I tried to submit part 2 ratings without comment I couln't do it. Since I was unconfortable to write "lololol" on every comment window, I ended providing the shortest comment possible...I think they didn't read them, as they said, and probably putting a sring without meaning would have been the same, but...that's what I did.

    - This will sound really dumb but... ;) for "setting" your phone they instruct you to visit a provided URL...be sure to digit the URL correctly...I missed a letter, then I started paniking a bit before discovering the mistake...it is always the same try-to-restart story but...it happened :)

    - Finally a consideration: being italian and expecting to evaluate italian content it has been a bit difficult for me sometimes to grasp the real value/popularity of some websites, but looking at the examples helped me, since at least made clear I was missing some things and I started looking more deeply at them.

    Good luck everyone!

  56. I read most of the guidelines but did not read past part 3 of the guidelines and for the test I just kept the guidelines up in a new tab and used ctrl+f to find the answers.

Part 2 I was a little worried about because I heard that everyone had failed it the first time and people kept talking about a simulator that I never found. It ended up taking me maybe a total of 45 minutes to complete part 2 and I'm about to start part 3 of it. I'm going to assume that part 3 is actually the hard part, I'll keep you updated!

  57. I just finished parts one and two this afternoon. I spent about six hours total reading and taking notes on the guidelines. In addition, I kept both the online and PDF versions up for constant referencing. Part one was BY FAR the more difficult of the two. As many people here have stated, the questions seemed intentionally tricky. Even having put as much into preparing as I had, by the end I had just about giving up thinking that I had messed up so badly. Part II was not as bad. If you're nit-picky and nosy like I am, you'll actually think it's fun. Just remember that they prefer you rate too low than too high. I didn't do any special prep for the second part and finished it in about two hours (maybe a little less). I decided to wait to take the third part until tomorrow so that I can watch the tutorial and really go in feeling prepared.

  58. Hi all,

I am planning to take submit the form to Leap Force soon. These are my following queries:

    1) From the discussion above, i understand that a total of one week is given to read the guidelines and complete the test. Is that right?

    2) How many task/questions does Part1, Part2, Part3 have and how much time does it take to complete all the test approximately?

    3) If i am taking a break of three months after joining should i have to go through the process from the beginning(Submit form, attend exam etc)

    Thanks.

    1. I'm going to answer #3 first, if you are not going to be working for 3 months you will most likely have to re-take all of the exam again. It might be best to wait until you can work consistently before you even apply.

You will get approximately one week to read the guidelines and complete the test. The number of tasks may vary, part one has the most questions, 33, the other two parts you will have between 5 and 10 tasks to complete. You should plan to do one part each day, so don't wait until the last day to complete the exam. Replies
    1. First make sure you are logged into the Gmail account you are using for Leapforce, If you are logged into a different account or not logged in that may be why your access was denied. If you still can't see the video I think you will be OK as long as you have read the written instructions on how to acquire tasks on your mobile phone. The video is only going to demonstrate how to acquire the tasks. I hope this helps. Good luck.

  61. Hi everybody!
I personally think you can realize the 3rd part exams without watching the video, you can find the same instructions in a pdf that they allow you to download within the "congratulation!" for having passed the 2nd part exam, there are enough instructions for realizing the 3rd exam.

QST: Anyone can tell me if there is any message at the end of the 3rd exam, which advises you that the admission process is finished? I only have the message "no tasks are currently available, please try again later", and nothing else, so I’m not feeling comfortable...
For sure I know that the result of the third part will be sent after 24 or more hours, I'm only asking if there any message that you have completed the qualification process.
I had a lot of problems with my mobile device (I applied twice because at the first intent I wasn't able to receive the tasks on my device), and I fear that something hasn't worked properly.
Good luck to all, I suggest you to really study the Guidelines (160 pgs approx with a huge amount of web examples) and to reserve at least a couple of day for the exams.

    Keep fingers crossed!!

    4. Well I never found a way to add my phone but I followed the pdf instructions without the video and was able to complete the exam. It must have automatically synched my phone when I clicked the first link.

  63. Thank you for the masses of time and effort you put into your blog concerning Leapforce, Yours is the first set of postings that appears to be mostly favorable, and I have read all of the sections referenced. I am recently retired and think working for Leapforce could be an interesting way to earn some extra money in the comfort of my home. I have a some simple questions:

I have studied the Guidelines in their online form, but have not seen the PDF version others have mentioned which should make searching for information easier during the exam. Is it only made available to us at the time we begin the series of tests? If it is available before my start date, would you please tell me where I can locate it for download?

I have a very small smartphone which was recognized and approved during the application process, but I can't help but wonder if I should purchase one of the larger format models before I begin the test. Since it appears that the time spent taking the test isn't criticized, I'm inclined to wait until I pass the test and am approved for work. Perhaps I shall be better off sticking with my little phone until it dies since Leapforce mentions that readability on smaller phones is a factor in judging page quality.

As I have studied the Guidelines, I have reset my test date several times with no automated objection or comment from Leapforce. The apparent conflict between "Use your best judgement." and "Think like we do." is a bit of a worry. I am sure I am one of the slower, painstaking folk who will be inclined to overthink all of this material; so, while I can identify with posters on other sites who appear mostly to complain about the company's criticisms of their work and their demand for unpaid training time required to continue to be employed, it's really encouraging to find at least one continuously involved person who isn't posting lots of complaints.

Thank you again for your generous effort to support our interest.

    1. Thanks for the compliments! I have a love/hate relationship with Leapforce, but overall I enjoy the work and its easy to do from home whenever I have time to work on it. It does get tedious at times, but you can stop working when you get bored. You do get monthly critiques of your work, but you can't take it personally, just learn from it and go on. I don't find the unpaid training time to be excessive, most of it is when you are studying for the initial exam. So yes, I do think it is a good part time job for someone who is retired.

You will get a link to the pdf version of the guidelines in the email once your exam is scheduled. It is a good idea to have the pdf open in another window while taking the exam.

I think you can hold off on getting a bigger smartphone unless you want one for other reasons. As long as yours has a new enough operating system that it will work with the Leapforce software it should be fine.

Yes there is a conflict between "think like we do" and "use your best judgement" but I think what they really mean is "use your best judgement to think like we do". So I try to always think like they do. But try not to over think it too much. Focus on their examples and the explanations they give.

So go for it, give it a try. You can always quit if you don't like it. Good luck!

  64. "use your best judgement to think like we do". LOVE IT! Thanks for your kind advice. I have scheduled (and rescheduled) my exam a few times. I have not received the link to the PDF version of the Guidelines yet. Perhaps it does not come until one is ON.

I kept expecting an automated notice of your reply since I had "ticked" the box for that when I posted, but didn't see one until I signed into my Microsoft Account. I had saved a bookmark to your blog and checked the various pages, but there was nothing there until now, 1/26. I noticed your response is dated 1/23. I mention this in case it is helpful to others who are keeping an eye out ineffectively as I apparently was. My exam start date is this weekend. Thanks for your assistance; it is very encouraging.

  71. Hey Janice, thanks for the awesome article. Hello from India :)

I passed both the exams easily. Go the results within a minute(literally!).
But I think I kind of messed up with the third exam. May be I got screwed, I don't know.
Here's what happened. I couldn't complete the 1st question of part 3. Before I could hit submit, it expired. Acquired another one. Submitted successfully. Acquired another, submitted. All good. Then I acquired the 3rd question, I was too spent by then, so I let it expire. After 2/3 hours I logged back in to finish the other questions, i knew it was not over yet, now it says "No tasks are currently available. Please try again later". I am literally cursing myself for letting that page expire. Mad and angry.

Just want to know how many questions are there in the 3rd part. I could only submit two successfully. I don't know what to do. Today is the last day of my deadline.
And one more thing, If I fail the third part, which I assume will be the likely outcome, will I have to retake all the exams or just the third part?

    Thanks for reading.

You probably won't hear from them until after the deadline. I took the exam over a year ago so I don't really remember how many questions were in part 3 I'm thinking it was 5 or 6. I don't know if you have to re-take the whole thing or just the part you failed. I hoped someone would submit a comment to answer that, but so far no one has. Please let us know the answer if you get the chance to re-take the exam. Good Luck!

.....I received this right after applying...it's a "no," right?

  73. I'm not sure if they changed the process? I took an exam that was 30 questions long. You have to move from one question to the next and cannot go back to change your answers. It took about three days but then I got an email stating I needed to go in and sign some forms (NDA etc). Next day I received an email asking if I have a Facebook and instagram account. Once I replied to the email with links to both of those it took about a day to get an email saying I have as accepted and needed to complete a W-9.

Does this sound remotely to the process you all followed?

    1. They do change the exam process occasionally, so they may have done that now. There are many different types of projects that we work on in Leapforce, they probably asked about Facebook and Instagram because they have a project they might put you on that involves use of those accounts. Congratulations on being accepted.
